Questions and Answers, guides and FAQsCategory: B&O specific questionsCan I use my B&O Beolab speakers with a non-B&O TV? (no subwoofer)
steve Staff asked 9 years ago

Yes, you can! Many of our customers want to use their LG, Sony Bravia or Samsung TV with their Beolab speakers. The only way to connect these speakers directly to your TV is to use the headphone socket on the TV, as this is the only socket where the volume level of the sound can be controlled.

You can connect a pair of Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of your TV using one of these cables:

1) Beolab speakers with a phono line in

  • Beolab 1
  • Beolab 5
  • Beolab 3000
  • Beolab 4000 mk.1 (excluding Serial nos. 2xxxx onwards, up to late 2007 only)
  • Beolab 4500
  • Beolab 5000
  • Beolab 6000
  • Beolab 8000
  • Beolab Penta

2) Beolab speakers with an 8 pin DIN Powerlink Line in

  • Beolab 3
  • Beolab 4000 mark 2
  • Beolab 6002
  • Beolab 8002
  • Beolab 9
  • Beolab 12 (12-1 / 12-2 / 12-3) — Please note, clip-on RJ45 adapters required!

3) Beolab 4 / Beolab 4PC Speakers

Please set both speakers to “Line” mode using the small switch next to the input sockets. If you have a hifi or audio system in the room near the TV, please let us know the details, as it may be better to connect the speakers via this instead of directly to the TV.
